Is This Course Approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)?

Yes! Drivers Education Course for teens is a TDLR approved course for those who want to learn how to drive safely. It has been developed especially for students residing in the state of Texas. With the help of this course, they are able to get their licenses at the age of sixteen. Along with getting the driver’s license, you can avail a discount on the insurance.

Do I Need to Fulfill the Requirement of Getting Behind-the-Wheel Training Course to Study the Online Drivers Education Course?

Yes. To receive a Texas driver’s license, you have to take classroom driving lessons as well as lessons on the road while driving a vehicle. That is how this online course helps you get good command over your driving by providing driver education from Texas.

What Is the Duration of This Course?

The criteria of completion are set according to the State of Texas. It says that you have to fulfill some requirements to get your driving permit. This means that you are supposed to take online instructions that are six hours in duration. Secondly, you will have to participate in the online training program which is twenty-six hours long. After that, take fourteen-hours of behind-the-wheel training being taught by one of your parents.

Which Documents Do I Need to Submit In Order to Get a Texas Learning Permit So That I Can Start Driving a Car?

To get your driver’s permit, you will have to submit the following paperwork:

  • Form DE-964 (Completion Certificate)
  • Proof of your identity
  • Social Security Number
  • A proof of enrollment and attendance in school
  • Proof of liability insurance and registrationz

Will I Be Required to Pay Additional Charges If I Need to Take the Online Drivers Education Course Test Again?

Not at all. To pass the final exam, you can take as many tests as you want without paying anything extra. This way, we guarantee that you will pass this online test easily.

What Is the Number of Questions In the Test and What Is the Criteria for Passing the Final Exam?

If you feel that you cannot do well in the test, it is not a big issue. On the final exam of Texas driver’s course, you are required to answer 90 questions. Out of these questions, you have to score 75% for passing the exam. However, you are allowed to retake the exam as many times as you want to. This is how you will be able to pass the online course to get the permit.

When Should I Start This Course?

You are required to sign up for the course first. This way, you can apply for this online program. When you begin to sign up, download this DL-92 form required by the State. Now complete it, and submit it back with a fee. This fee is non-refundable. You can pay the amount of fees either through money order or check. To know the exact amount, please check with the DPS.

You have to wait for some weeks till the State approves you as the Parent Instructor. After it has approved you, you will receive a mail from them including your packet. Receive the packet and start the training and online testing.

How Can I Become the Parent or Guardian Instructor?

You should have a valid drivers’ license of Texas for the next 3 years. In addition, you must not have any records of criminal conviction due to homicide or intoxication. Also, make sure your license is not revoked, forfeited, or suspended because of traffic violations within the past 3 years. Furthermore, you should be mentally stable. For validity, mental stability questions are sent to the Medical Advisory Board.

I Want to Become A Parent Instructor for Both My Twins But I Only Have One Packet. Will the Same Packet Be Utilized for Both the Twins?

No. In order to give training to your second twin, you are required to fill an additional request form along with a non-refundable fee. Make sure you have included original information and signature in the form. Otherwise, you can experience a delay in the documentation process. The second packet will be delivered to you within two to three weeks.

Is It Possible to Take This Online Course As a Block Course Or Concurrent Course?

Yes, it can be taught in either way. If you plan to take the concurrent course, the student can take written tests approved by the DPS once he has completed Module 1 along with all its three parts. After that, the student will be allowed to take classroom instructions from Module 2 to 12 along with in-car instructions within Module 3.

How Can I Get a Valid Receipt That Proves That I Have Purchased the PTDE So That I Can Present It to the DPS?

To get written proof, you have to print assessments of classroom progress, student workbook, as well as Module 13. This will be done after the completion of the training. Take these documents to the DPS. In addition, you can print other Modules but that is entirely up to you.

What happens after I have signed up for this course?

Upon signing up for this course, you will automatically be assigned to a class which has an instructor who gets to grade the work you do. The instructor will also be present for answering all questions you ask.

How long does the course take to complete?

It is 32 hours long and can’t be completed in lesser than 16 days. Individuals are allowed for working on the classroom part of this course for not more than 2 hours every day.

How will this course be graded?

The course is graded on the basis of:

  • End-of-unit assessments
    • Once every unit ends, students have an assessment in which they must score at least 70%
    • Students are not allowed to move forward to the next unit until they pass their end-of-unit assessment.
  • 23 drive plan assignments
    • The online instructor reviews and grades your assignments.
    • The assignments are given either a fail or pass grade.
    • Students are allowed to resubmit any failed assignment until they pass

Does the course have a final exam?

No, there aren’t any final exams. Students are only graded based on their end-of-unit assessments and assignments for drive plan.

When can I receive my completion certificate?

The certificate of completion is sent to your guardian/parent or driving school once you have completed the course successfully.
